New Report: Global Vegan Cheese Market to Reach $7 Billion by 2030

Vegan cheese is taking over! According to a new report by data analytics firm Transparency Marketing Research, the global plant-based cheese market is expected to reach around $7 billion dollars in the next 10 years. The report also predicts that by the end of 2020, the global vegan cheese market will be worth around $2.5 billion.
As the demand for vegan cheese rises “at an exponential rate, more companies are racing to make delicious products, and competition is high. The report cites many reasons for the growing popularity of plant-based cheese, including climate change, health, and animal welfare concerns:
Climate change, mounting concerns related to animal cruelty, and health are some of the leading factors that are driving the vegan movement worldwide. At present, veganism is at its peak and the trend is likely to continue in the near future.
In some ways, the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be aiding the vegan cheese industry’s growth. As consumers spend more time indoors and away from the gym, many are focusing on health by ridding their pantries of junk food and choosing healthy options instead.
As consumers grow increasingly aware of the link between animal agriculture and zoonotic diseases, some are opting for plant-based foods as a way to fight the spread of dangerous diseases:
Reports linking the spread of coronavirus from animals are pushing consumers away from the consumption of meat and meat-based products. The increasing consumption of plant-based products is expected to fuel the demand for vegan cheese in the forecast period.
With demand and competition climbing, companies are expanding their vegan options and getting creative with their animal-free recipes! Here are a few vegan cheese brands listed as “key players in the report:
