Once confronted with heart-breaking video footage of animals suffering, whether it be a helpless hen trapped in the wire of her battery cage or a mother raccoon trying desperately to escape the agony of a leg-hold trap, many consumers are compelled to take action on behalf of animals. Video of abuses in factory farms, slaughterhouses, and other animal exploitation establishments is compelling and indisputable evidence of our exploitation of non-human animals, which makes it one of the animal protection movement’s most powerful tools.

MFA understands the importance of bringing these images to the minds and conscience of the public. As such, one of MFA’s most active and successful campaigns is video showings and presentations. This campaign gives MFA a golden opportunity to promote vegetarianism and animal protection to groups of individuals in a non-confrontational atmosphere. It allows for open discussion and answers to questions about the issues. MFA has held dozens of video showings and presentations at high schools, colleges, and conferences.

Humane educators from MFA also work with teachers and professors to discuss with students of all ages why vegetarianism is good for animals, our health, and the environment. Presenters use a variety of techniques in classrooms, such as holding discussions and showing investigation documentaries, to bring attention to animal issues and encourage ethical food choices.
