Chicago Gay Pride Parade

Over three dozen members of Mercy For Animals celebrated diversity and encouraged compassion toward animals on June 29, 2008 at the annual Chicago Gay Pride Parade. Marching behind an MFA logo banner that declared “No one is free when others are oppressed,” the activists donned colored t-shirts and formed a human rainbow. MFA members distributed over 8,000 Why Vegetarian? booklets to the enthusiastically supportive crowd. MFA's educational exhibit at the succeeding Pride Festival featured literature, photos, and video footage exposing animal cruelty on factory farms and promoting a healthy and humane vegetarian diet.
