CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF IMPACT FOR ANIMALS
1999
At 15 years old, Milo Runkle starts a local animal rights group in rural Ohio. Three words sum up its mission: Mercy For Animals.
2000–2011
Mercy For Animals establishes additional U.S. chapters and conducts 21 undercover investigations—rescuing animals and catalyzing historic legal reforms.
2012–2013
We expand to Canada and swiftly send whistleblowers into factory farms and slaughterhouses, prompting change for animals within major Canadian companies.
2015
Our arrival in Brazil leads to thousands of actions, 13 investigations, major corporate welfare policies, and 35 million+ vegan school meals.
2015
Mercy For Animals begins operations in India that will later inspire 15 state-level bans on extreme confinement of pregnant and mother pigs.
2018
Leah Garcés becomes the new president and CEO of Mercy For Animals.
2019
Leah brings Transfarmation™—a program that supports farms transitioning from raising animals to growing plants—to Mercy For Animals.
