According to Memphis
Meats, Cargill has
decided to invest in the leading clean meat company.
This latest fundraising round marks the first public
commitment to the clean meat movement by major investors and meat industry
leaders. The round was led by leading venture capital firm DFJ, which had previously
invested in Tesla, SpaceX, and Skype. Additionally, philanthropists and
billionaires Bill Gates and Richard Branson invested in the
round.
Cargill’s investment is the first time the animal
agricultural industry has invested in clean meat and is further evidence that
this is the future.
Memphis Meats is known for creating real beef burgers made
without cows and the world’s
first chicken and duck meat made without animal slaughter.
In a press release, Dr. Uma Valeti, co-founder and CEO of
Memphis Meats, said, “We’re going to bring meat to the plate in a more
sustainable, affordable, and delicious way. The company intends to use the money
raised to continue developing products, scaling up clean meat production, and reducing
production costs to levels below what conventional meat requires.
Those of us who have switched to a plant-based diet know
that vegan foods can be incredibly satisfying. The fact remains, however, that most
people still eat meat, so these clean meat products can provide a humane,
sustainable, and affordable alternative.
This could completely
transform the way the world eats.
Cows, pigs, and chickens raised and killed for food are
treated as mere objects, and their short lives are filled with violence and
pain. Cows, pigs, and chickens are subjected to a nightmare of confinement,
mutilation, torture, and slaughter.
See for yourself.
Luckily, Memphis Meats’ amazing products will change all
this. People will enjoy meat without contributing to horrific cruelty.
But you don’t have to wait to start helping animals.
Millions of people have already switched to a compassionate, sustainable, and healthy plant-based diet. Click here to get started!
