Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee on Orange Is the New Black, recently took to Instagram and Twitter to share she’s enjoying the “vegan life!
On the Netflix original show, Danielle’s character is known for advocating equal rights and fair treatment. Maybe, just maybe, her role inspired her to make the switch and advocate a compassionate vegan diet? While we don’t know what led Danielle to veganism, one thing is certain: She loves it!
Danielle shared drool-worthy vegan meals with her millions of fans as part of her Instagram and Twitter story.

Over the past month, several celebrities have announced that they’re trying a vegan diet, including Kylie Jenner, Ne-Yo, and Stephen Colbert.
Eating a plant-based diet is a great way to protect your health. In fact, study after study shows that a plant-based diet not only improves longevity but also reduces your risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, obesity, and certain forms of cancer.
But the negative health effects of eating meat, dairy, and eggs are only part of the problem. Animals at factory farms are treated as mere objects, and their short lives are filled with violence and pain. Cows, pigs, and chickens are subjected to a nightmare of confinement, mutilation, torture, and slaughter.
