GQ: Cheese as Addictive as Cocaine!

Researchers at the University of Michigan have found that the more fatty or processed a food, the more likely it is to be addictive.

Not surprisingly, foods containing cheese, including pizza, rank at the top of the list.

“Indeed, the most addictive foods in the study contained cheese. That’s partly due to its high concentration of casein, a protein that can ignite your brain’s opioid receptors and produce the familiar craving for another hit, reports GQ magazine

Not only is cheese incredibly addictive; countless studies show dairy in general is detrimental to human health.

Cow’s milk is linked to a 60 percent increased risk of prostate cancer for every two glasses consumed daily. Additionally, women who switch from dairy to soy products reduce their risk of breast cancer by a shocking 43 percent.

In 2014, a study highlighted by The Telegraph found a connection between milk and lowered life expectancy. In fact, people who consumed three glasses of milk or more each day were twice as likely to die early as those who drank less or no milk.

Sadly, not only are we being misled to believe milk is good for us, but cows on dairy factory farms are also suffering for it.

MFA investigations at dairy facilities throughout the U.S. have documented a culture of cruelty and neglect. Cows used in dairy production are treated as mere milk-producing machines, and their lives are filled with fear and suffering.

Luckily, we can protect animals and our health by adopting a compassionate vegan diet.
