In an interview with Cosmopolitan.com, country singer Carrie Underwood shares her vegan meal plan and what she loves to chow down on to keep her legs and arms toned.
“I never eat meat and try to eat totally vegan, which is easiest when I cook for myself,” Carrie said. The singer always makes time to work out but credits her plant-based diet for keeping her in shape.
For breakfast she enjoys tofu scramble, vegan chorizo breakfast burritos, and fresh fruit and granola. One of her lunch faves is a Tofurky sandwich loaded with greens and sprouts. Carrie says she hardly ever orders dinner out, but adds that you don’t need to be a great cook to be vegan. “It's not that I'm an amazing chef—I stick to the basics, like roasted veggies and stir-fries.”
While not a big sweets person, Carrie loves So Delicious vegan ice cream or coconut milk ice cream now and then.
This celebrity clearly works out hard, but her vegan diet is definitely helping her stay fit. Study after study shows that meat is terrible for your health. In fact, a study by a University of Adelaide doctoral student found that meat contributes to obesity as much as sugar does.
