Vegan meat company Field
Roast just announced it is on track to sell more than 5 million pounds of
its plant-based roasts this holiday season. Best known for its incredible vegan
sausages and cheeses, Field Roast currently offers three different roasts:
Celebration Roast (1 lb.), Celebration Roast (2 lb.) with traditional bread stuffing
and mushroom gravy, and Hazelnut Cranberry Roast En Croute.
Founded more than 20 years ago in Seattle, Field Roast now sells
its delicious vegan fare across the U.S. and Canada at retailers such as Whole
Foods, Walmart, Target, and Kroger. Its holiday Celebration Roast launched back
in 2003 and has seen significant sales growth year to year.
It’s no surprise to us that Field Roast products are flying
off the shelves. Sales
of plant-based meats have exploded in recent years. In fact, iconic brand Tofurky
announced back in August that it had sold its 5 millionth plant-based roast, and Upton’s Naturals announced this week
that its vegan bacon and jackfruit products are now
available in more than 5,000 retail locations in 15 countries!
This is all good news for animals who suffer miserably at
factory farms. Farmed animals endure cruel standard farming practices, such as
painful mutilations, extreme confinement, and violent slaughter. Not only that,
a
recent investigation from The Guardian and
the Bureau of Investigative Journalism into U.S. slaughterhouses found
birds freezing to death, being boiled alive, and suffocating under other birds.
Mercy For Animals has conducted over 60 undercover
investigations into factory farms and slaughterhouses in the U.S., Canada,
Mexico, and Brazil, and each time we expose horrors inherent in the meat
industry.
Savory plant-based meats like Field Roast’s allow
compassionate consumers to enjoy all the flavor and texture of meat without
supporting cruelty. With all the fantastic meat, dairy, and egg alternatives
widely available, there’s never been a better time to switch to a healthy and
humane vegan lifestyle. Get vegan recipe ideas, a personalized plant-based meal
