Here’s Why Humane Meat Is Bullsh*t

Joe Loria August 12, 2016
We all know that factory farming is terrible. It’s terrible
for our planet,
terrible for animals,
and terrible for our health.
But what about so-called humane meat?
By definition “humane means “having or showing compassion
or benevolence. A lot of companies that sell animal products use the label
“humane to ease the minds of consumers and increase business.
But let’s get real for a second: No animal wants to die to
become your meat. And there is nothing compassionate or benevolent about hanging
animals upside down and slashing their throats open when they just wanted to
live.
Sound harsh? Well, that’s exactly what happens in
slaughterhouses.
The fact is pigs, cows, chickens, and other farmed animals
are just as sensitive and intelligent as the dogs and cats we love at home. Yet
the meat industry is allowed to abuse billions of them in ways that would
warrant felony-level animal cruelty charges if the victim were just one dog or
cat.
So what, exactly, does “humane mean to the meat industry?
See for yourself. Check out this undercover video recorded at a Foster Farms
facility that is humane certified by American Humane Association:
