On Saturday, Mercy For Animals teamed up with Whole Earth Bakery and Kitchen in Manhattan’s East Village to give New Yorkers a taste of delicious and animal-friendly vegan food. Open since 1978, the all-vegan bakery has been a pioneer of cruelty-free living and a much beloved hot spot for vegans in New York City.
Despite the freezing temperatures, hundreds of passersby were treated with vegan pizza samples topped with delicious Daiya cheese, incredible tofu cheesecake and dairy-free hot chocolate from Ghirardelli with Sweet & Sara’s vegan mini marshmallows. Many people gladly took a copy of MFA’s Vegetarian Starter Kit and dozens swarmed into the vegan bakery to try even more tasty treats!
Vegan feed-ins are a great way to show people how easy and delicious vegan eating can be. With the help of organizations like VegFund, which provides funding and support for vegan feed-ins and outreach events, animal advocates across the country can easily host their own vegan feed-ins and show their communities how simple it is to adopt a healthy and humane vegan lifestyle.
