The following statement regarding the Senate Farm Bill may be attributed to Leah Garcés, CEO and President of Mercy For Animals:

We applaud the U.S. Senate for releasing Farm Bill text that incorporates Mercy For Animals’ priorities to support farmers in transitioning their factory farms to climate-friendly operations and require the federal government to prepare and publish an annual report on cruel mass animal killings at farms. Mercy For Animals will continue to engage with senators to promote the Industrial Agriculture Accountability Act and Industrial Agriculture Conversion Act in the fight to construct a just and sustainable food system. The Senate’s version of the Farm Bill is an important step in the right direction.
