In a recent AP video interview, actress Thandie
Newton of Solo: A Star Wars Story credits
co-star Woody Harrelson for inspiring her to switch to a vegan diet.
Impressed by Harrelson’s kindness and positive
energy, Newton says: “I think it’s good to have a vegan in the mix. [Good to
have] a vegan in a position of power. I have been vegan since working with
Woody. She added that she’s been vegan for four months.
Newton went on to tease the 56-year-old actor
about his age:
You, I mean you’re not that old, obviously. And you’ve got a youth to you that is really adorable. Even though, you know, you’re old enough to be everybody’s parent. A little bit older than that, actually.
Watch.
All kidding aside, a vegan diet is a great way
to stay youthful. In fact, a 2013 article in Yahoo! Voices describes how a
healthy plant-based diet helps skin look smoother and may diminish fine lines.
The author also discusses the natural glow produced by eating plant-based foods
rich in vitamins A and E, such as kale, spinach, and collard greens.
What’s more, a study from the University of
Glasgow found that consuming red meat and not enough fruits and vegetables
could increase the body’s “biological age and contribute to health problems.
In addition to Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton
joins celebrities Moby, Miley Cyrus, Joaquin Phoenix, Kat Von D, Erykah Badu,
and many others speaking in favor of veganism.
There’s no doubt that celebrities can use their influence to change the world. Whether
creating documentaries, speaking out against cruel factory farms, or sharing
delicious vegan recipes, celebrities are using their platforms to help farmed
animals.
From throwing
chicks into macerators to tearing baby cows from their mothers, factory
farmers routinely abuse animals. What’s worse, this systematic
torture is actually legal.
Fortunately, by going vegan you can easily
withdraw your support from this inhumane industry.
By ditching animal products, these celebs are
protecting animals, the planet, and their health. Join them and millions of others
and switch to a compassionate vegan lifestyle. Click here to
