Tabitha Brown and Carrie Ann Inaba Host Mercy For Animals’ Second Online Concert

Hannah Bugga July 21, 2020
Last weekend, Mercy For Animals hosted its second online concert LIVE on Facebook, with performances from over 30 incredible musicians! The two-day event has amassed over 70,000 views across Mercy For Animals’ Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
The lineup included Grammy Award-winning duo Rodrigo y Gabriela; Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts actor and singer Jamie Campbell Bower; Charmed star Sarah Jeffery; The Vampire Diaries‘ Persia White; The X Factor‘s Lloyd Daniels; acclaimed singer-songwriters DAWN, Jade Novah, and Shea Diamond; and multiple Broadway performers, including Grammy-winning and Tony-nominated singer Eva Noblezada.
During these often difficult times, we must band together to spread hope, love, and encouragement. Since all large gatherings have been either postponed or canceled, this second Voices of Compassion online concert was a safe, responsible way to share songs of hope and stand together as a community. Mercy For Animals president Leah Garcés said:
Thank you to all the artists and musicians who took the time to share their gifts with our audience. Now more than ever, we recognize the power of music to give us hope, comfort, and inspiration during these unprecedented times.
Here are just a few of the inspiring performances:
Saturday
Day 1 was hosted by effervescent actress and vegan food influencer Tabitha Brown, whose warm smile and soothing words were the perfect beginning to a wonderful concert.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jade Novah not only made us dance but reminded us to love and respect all living beings.
Actor, singer, and model Jamie Campbell Bower stole our hearts with his moving rendition of Stephen Sondheim’s “Johanna,” which Bower sang in the film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street!
Groundbreaking Broadway star Brittney Johnson had a beautiful message for her “Mercy For Animals family” and encouraged everyone to lead with “love and compassion.”
Sunday
Day 2 was hosted by our friend Carrie Ann Inaba, who on top of being a co-host of The Talk and a judge on Dancing with the Stars is a passionate defender of animals.
Grammy-winning acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela had us swooning with their magical performance of “Hanuman.”
Singer-songwriter and social justice activist Shea Diamond brought the emotion with her powerful song “I Am Her.”
Kindhearted recording artist Stephanie Braganza, accompanied by guitarist and composer Kolin Stürt, performed “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree.
