WOW! New York Restaurateur Making His 15 Restaurants Vegan

Sarah Von Alt February 15, 2016
A New York restaurateur made headlines this week after
announcing that he would switch to completely plant-based menus at all of his 15
bars and restaurants!
“Ravi DeRossi is about to go all-in with veganism. The restaurateur behind
Avant Garden and Death and Co. has been thinking about environmental waste and
factory farming, and now, he wants to put his money where his mouth is. DeRossi plans
to make as many of his 15 bars and restaurants animal-free as possible, explains
Eater.
While DeRossi plans to expand his hit vegan restaurant, Avant
Garden, he is completely overhauling other venues like The Bourgeois Pig. This
bar and restaurant, which serves cheese plates and charcuterie, will be
transformed into LadyBird, a totally vegan wine and tapas bar.
With an ever-growing consumer interest in vegan eating, it comes
as no surprise that restaurants nationwide are adding more veg options to their
menus. It’s a change largely motivated by increased awareness of the egregious animal
cruelty and environmental destruction caused by the meat industry.
On factory farms, animals are subjected to extreme
confinement, mutilations without painkillers, and a brutal slaughter. Their
short lives are filled with misery and deprivation.
See for yourself:
Veganism is becoming easier and more mainstream every day. Now’s
the time to ditch cruel animal products in favor of delicious vegan
alternatives.
