Warmer weather may feel like a million years away, but Youth Empowered Action (YEA) camp is already
planning a fantastic summer for teens interested in activism.
Since 2009, YEA camp has held week-long overnight sessions
for young social justice advocates. Camps are held in July and August in northern
California, Oregon, and New York. Inspired youth, aged 12–17 years and determined
to make a difference, are offered a unique opportunity to learn important
activist skills to advance social issues they care about.
They learn how to start effective clubs at school, fundraise,
use art and social media for advocacy, and communicate effectively, especially
with those who disagree. Since the camp promotes social justice and
sustainability, only delicious vegan food is served to the campers!
This summer for the first time, YEA camp will offer a
special session specifically for animal advocates. The camp will be held on the
Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary in upstate New York. Campers will meet with other young, dedicated
animal activists, receive mentorships from successful animal advocates, become
familiar with animal organizations across the country, and even care for once neglected
and abused animals staying at the sanctuary.
This incredible experience is perfect for young animal
lovers. So what are you waiting for? Enroll
in YEA camp today!
