Animal Cruelty: The Price We Pay for Cheap Meat

Thumbnail image for Gestation Crate 4.JPGLast week, “Rolling Stone” magazine published a scathing critique and feature article on factory farming: “Animal Cruelty Is the Price We Pay for Cheap Meat.” The name of the article says it all.

Drawing on undercover footage from MFA’s investigations at factory farms and slaughterhouses throughout the country, journalist Paul Solotaroff explains that undercover investigations are “performing a service that the federal government can’t, or won’t, render: keeping an eye on the way American meat is grown.”

Solotaroff also highlights the efforts of Big Ag to hide its practices from the public through so-called ag-gag laws. Such laws send a clear message to consumers that animal abuse is rampant on modern farms.

Thanks to the incredible reporting of “Rolling Stone,” countless people around the world have been awakened to the shocking but standard practices of the factory farming industry, including routine mutilations without painkillers and extreme confinement.

Help continue to open eyes worldwide by sharing this video with as many people as you can. Show them just how cruel and corrupt the factory farming industry is:
