Heartbreaking Abuse at Egg Farm Owned by Notorious Animal Abuser (VIDEO)

Sarah Von Alt June 7, 2016
Earlier today, The Humane Society of the United States
released a disturbing undercover investigation into Hillandale Farms, an egg
farm in Maine owned by notorious animal abuser Jack DeCoster.
The shocking footage reveals hens stuffed into cages so
small the birds can’t even spread their wings, chickens trapped and mangled in cage
wire, birds suffering from untreated injuries, and hens forced to share their
cages with dead — and even mummified — birds.
See for yourself:
Formerly known as Quality Egg of New England, this facility was
the subject of a 2009 MFA undercover investigation that resulted in a raid by
state police on grounds of animal cruelty and the conviction of DeCoster on 10
counts of animal cruelty. DeCoster was ordered to pay more than $130,000 in
fines and restitution.
MFA’s undercover
video
exposed hens suffocating in trash cans, chickens kicked into manure
pits to drown in feces, and workers whipping birds around by their heads in
cruel attempts to break their necks.
We can all take a stand for animals needlessly abused on
modern farms by choosing compassionate plant-based foods every time we sit down
to eat.
