Mercy For Animals just launched a brand-new feature: a personal donor portal for all our supporters! This exciting new tool empowers our donors to take more control in their relationships with Mercy For Animals and make the best-informed decisions about their charitable giving.
Accessing the portal is easy! Donors can sign up here using the same email they use to donate to Mercy For Animals. Once logged in, our donors can download tax receipts, manage communications, and more. We will roll out additional features throughout 2022, so be sure to check back!
Our donors are true champions for animals. Because of them, we get one step closer to a compassionate food system every day—a food system that does not include animals. Here are just a few things we accomplished in 2021 with their generous support.
1. Teaming Up with Greta
This year, environmental activist Greta Thunberg joined us in producing a short film that draws connections between animal agriculture and environmental devastation. Celebrities shared this powerful film with their hundreds of millions of followers, and more than 600 media outlets covered its release.
2. Landing Costco in the New York Times
Our investigation into a farm that supplies Costco with cheap chicken broke in the New York Times, and the story reached the homes of nearly a million subscribers. Volunteers took to the streets demanding that Costco do better for chickens. And it worked! After months of in-person and digital campaigning, Costco took their first step to reduce suffering for chickens.
3. Testifying for Animals
We testified before the Texas House Agriculture and Livestock Committee, urging them to remove language from a bill that could have criminalized whistleblowing and the release of undercover footage revealing animal abuse at factory farms. After months of effort, the language was removed from the bill in a big win for animals.
4. Increasing Plant-Based Options
Our digital and grassroots actions led by supporters (like you!) helped influence Denny’s, Cracker Barrel, and Nathan’s Famous in the United States; Nestlé in Mexico; and Nutfree in Brazil to offer more plant-based items, making plant-based eating more accessible for millions of people.
5. Celebrating at the Hope Gala
Our Hope Gala drew attendees from all over the world. Actors and activists Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix presented Dr. Jane Goodall with the Mercy For Animals Hope Award. This once-in-a-lifetime virtual event also honored the important work of Pinky Cole, Miyoko Schinner, and former undercover investigator Erik Hastings.
We are so grateful for our supporters and their commitment to making the world a better place for animals. Help us do even more for animals in 2022 by signing up to be a monthly donor!
