family-4.jpgIt is with great excitement that we announce MFA’s new resources for Latin American countries! All of these materials are in Spanish, with content specific to Latin America, and designed with help from animal protection groups and volunteers living in or from Latin America.

Complete with helpful hints, quick meal ideas, and inspiration, MFA’s new EligeVeg.com site features all of the tools needed to make the transition to a healthy and humane plant-based diet.

Visitors to the site can also order or download their free Guia Vegetariana Para Principiantes, a vegetarian starter guide packed with loads of information about helping animals, including delicious recipes. Upon signing up for the guide, they will receive Fresco Comienzo, our vegetarian eating email series, featuring 11 messages of encouragement, loaded with tips and everything anyone needs to go and stay vegetarian.

In addition, we’ll be launching an online advertising campaign next week to start bringing these resources to young people in Latin America, encouraging them to visit CarneVideo.com. Here they will find a powerful 12-minute film that takes viewers on an eye-opening exploration behind the closed doors of some of the largest industrial poultry, pig, dairy and fish farms, hatcheries, and slaughter plants — revealing the often unseen journey that animals make from Farm to Fridge.

We’re bringing our vital work for animals to millions of people who may otherwise never have learned the truth about modern farming and where our food comes from. These resources will broaden our efforts to open consumers’ hearts and minds to the plight of farmed animals and empower them to make humane food choices.

Scientists on Quest to Make “Real” Vegan Cheese

Scientists in San Francisco have recently banded together to help create the world’s “first real vegan cheese.” This cheese would be created from the same proteins as dairy-based cheese minus the exploitation of mother cows. How, you ask? It begins with good old-fashioned baker’s yeast, which this team of scientists engineers to become “milk-protein factories, […]
