OpenTable Promotes Plant-Based Dining With List of Best Veg Restaurants

Sarah Von Alt October 12, 2015
OpenTable, the world’s
leading dining reservations site, is honoring Vegetarian Awareness Month by featuring
the top 52 veg-friendly restaurants across the country. And half the list is
comprised of all-vegan eateries!
OpenTable reviewed more
than 5 million restaurant reviews from over 20,000 restaurants to determine
diners’ favorites. According to Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s chief dining officer,
OpenTable’s regional teams have “noticed an uptick in restaurants serving
additional vegetarian and vegan options. She went on to say that vegan eating
is a “growing trend and that “it’s clear there is a demand and passion for
plant-forward dishes and restaurants.
In fact, a recent study conducted by the Nutrition
Business Journal
highlights the fact that between 36 and 39 percent of the population is interested in reducing (or
eliminating) its meat and dairy consumption. It also shows that 1 in 10 millennials
identifies as vegetarian or vegan.
The OpenTable list includes both well-known vegan and vegetarian
establishments as well as some new and exciting places to try—make sure to tag
#vegforward to share the fun!
By making
the decision to choose healthy, cruelty-free meals, you are saving farmed
animals from a life of misery, pain, and sadness. To add more plant-based
options to your plate, visit ChooseVeg.com.
