Statement on human Bird Flu infection after contact with cows at a Texas dairy farm

The following statement regarding the human Bird Flu infection may be attributed to Frances Chrzan, Senior Federal Policy Manager at Mercy For Animals:

Since last week, five states have reported possible cases of bird flu in cows, and now a Texas dairy farm worker has been diagnosed with the disease.

If government officials don’t act now, we will continue to see diseases spread through factory farms. Mercy For Animals calls on Congress to pass the Industrial Agriculture Accountability Act to hold corporations accountable for the serious public health threats they impose on Americans.
