With its mouthwatering plant-based chicken
strips, Beast burgers, and meatballs, Beyond Meat has made a name for itself
among the meatless.
Now the company is changing the game yet again with a fresh
vegan burger sold behind the meat counter.
The
Chicago Tribune explains:
Beyond Meat bills its latest creation, the Beyond Burger, as the most meat-like non-meat feat yet. It has been on sale for a single day — Monday, in a Whole Foods in Boulder, Colo. — and is already being compared to, as The New York Times puts it, the “holy grail” of ersatz animal protein: A plant burger upon which a human carnivore would happily snack.
Loaded with 20 grams of protein, this gluten-
and soy-free burger even “bleeds pulverized beet juice, and has the look,
smell, and taste of meat.
According to Beyond Meat’s Twitter feed, the first batch of
burgers sold out within an hour!
As more people become aware of the egregious animal cruelty and vast
environmental destruction involved in meat production, the popularity
of delicious vegan meat alternatives continues to rise.
In fact, just last year, Marketwired reported that
plant-based proteins are poised to take a
third of the protein market by 2054!
So what are you waiting for? There’s never been a better
time to ditch cruel animal products in favor of tasty
vegan alternatives.
